I find that meeting with directees once a month for an hour provides a helpful rhythm and pace for people to reflect and check in with themselves and God. During our first session, we will become acquainted, discuss the process of our work, and gather any needed additional information. Then we’ll begin doing actual direction.
This portion of our time together provides space for you to share what is on your heart and mind about your life and relationship with God. This may include observations, hopes, fears, frustrations, ponderings, or questions you have for God. You and God set the agenda. I will be there to listen and be with you. During this and our future meetings together, we will find a rhythm of silence and listening and sharing. I may offer you a question, a thought, or at times a piece of Scripture to consider. Together, we will be listening for God and for God’s invitations to you.
The time we share together is sacred, and I hold what you share confidentially and with respect. It is very important that we both feel comfortable with each other if we are to discuss the deeper aspects of your spiritual life. Because of this, I find that we may use the first few sessions to discern if this is a good fit and if God is inviting us to journey together during this season. Should we discern that we are not finding a good fit, I will be happy to refer you to another director who may be better suited to your needs or situation.
My fee is $80 per session payable by either cash, check, or credit card. A sliding fee is available for those who are experiencing economic hardship.
